The Control Key is required for the removal and installation of lock cores. It does not lock or unlock your lock like a regular key. Most locks must be in the unlocked position to remove the lock core. It is also referred to as a Pull Key, Change Key, Core Removal Tool.
The CompX Timberline TA-CK Control Key—also known as KY-500 or D500KY—is a genuine OEM service key used exclusively to remove and install removable lock cores in CompX Timberline TA & T series locking systems. It is an essential maintenance tool for servicing Timberline office furniture locks installed in file cabinets, desks, pedestals, credenzas, cubicles, and modular furniture systems.
The TA-CK is commonly referred to as a control key, pull key, or change key. It does not lock or unlock drawers or doors. Instead, it disengages the internal retaining mechanism inside the lock housing so the lock core (plug) can be safely removed or seated without damaging the lock.
