The Control Key is required for the removal and installation of lock cores. It does not lock or unlock your lock like a regular key. Most locks must be in the unlocked position to remove the lock core. It is also referred to as a Pull Key, Change Key, Core Removal Tool.
The Pelican Drawer HW0229-C Control Key is a genuine Pelican control (core removal) key used for the installation and removal of ONLY Pelican Drawer Sidewinder Lock Cores. This key is required whenever servicing or rekeying Pelican drawer systems and is not designed to lock or unlock the drawer like a standard user key.
This control key is also commonly referred to as a pull key, change key, or core removal tool—different names for the same essential function. Without the correct control key, Pelican lock cores cannot be safely removed or installed.
