The Control Key is required for the removal and installation of lock cores. It does not lock or unlock your lock like a regular key. Most locks must be in the unlocked position to remove the lock core. It is also referred to as a Pull Key, Change Key, Core Removal Tool.
The Pelican Drawer HW0017 Control Key is a genuine Pelican Control Key / Master Key used to install and remove standard Pelican Drawer lock cores. This control key is specifically designed for locks stamped with a 3-digit lock code beginning with the letters A, B, C, D, or E.
The HW0017 control key is required for servicing non-Sidewinder Pelican lock cores and cannot be used with Pelican Sidewinder lock systems.
This tool does not lock or unlock the drawer. Its sole purpose is to release the internal retaining mechanism so the lock core can be safely removed or installed in the lock housing. It is also commonly referred to as a pull key, change key, or core removal tool.
